Overview

Gen - is a PTC websites script which was created by PTCPay.com team. PTCPay.Com is a company that offers scripts, coding, and customization services for webmasters, and specifically, PTC website owners. Please review Gen3 article. On February 2 Gen4 become available for download. Gen4 is the next script in the GeN series and brings new functionality and security. As usual, GeN4 also comes with free support, access to special areas on our forums, and free script updates.

Security Issues

Gen4 developers and marketers claims that all of GeN3 security bugs were fixed in Gen4 release. But the truth is that the script is still vulnerable and it is very dangerous to use it. We wrote about the most famous security issue here. It happened in Aug 2010: IcoBux.com had instant payments turned on and someone has exploited a security bug in Gen4 script. He was able to cash out their AlertPay and PayPal balances. It could happen if an attacker has increased his accounts balances (through a database, for example) and simply ordered an instant payment. Before that issue IcoBux.com team spent a month (!) in pre-launch fixing bugs in Gen4 script. That fixing of purchased "ready-to-use" script was ridiculous and even that did not help.
